The 8 shaft loom is almost ready to start weaving on, just need to wind on, and tie up treadles. This project will be towels for a custom order.

I am also setting up the 4 shaft loom for a couple small lap/baby blankets

I’ll be out of town for a few days, but I’ll hit the ground weaving when I return!

I am almost halfway done with the heddle threading. This is my least favorite part of the weaving process. I have to be incredibly careful to get things in the right order, then i double and triple check. One mistake can mean hours of correction.

Now, it’s time to thread each of the ends through the heddles, which, together with the treadles, create the pattern that will be woven.

All 420 ends are sleyed into the reed. Which is weaver speak for each piece of yarn is threaded into the stainless steel “comb” that keeps it all organized.
